Buddy Walk for Down syndrome

SPARKS — The Down Syndrome Network of Northern Nevada (DSNNN) will hold Buddy Walk 2010 on Sept. 18 at the Sparks Marina.

Buddy Walk 2010 is one of more than 300 Buddy Walks planned in cities across the country to celebrate National Down Syndrome Awareness Month. The Buddy Walk was established by the National Down Syndrome Society in 1995 to promote acceptance and inclusion of all people with Down syndrome.

The walk will be held rain or shine. Registration begins at 9 a.m., and the one-mile walk kicks off at 10 a.m. Following the walk, participants will enjoy and afternoon of fun and celebration with a barbecue, music, bounce house, games and more.
