RENO — The Shakespeare Animal Fund will hold its Applause for Paws summer fundraiser on Aug. 13 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Circus Circus Hotel and Casino. The evening includes a variety of unique musical performances, champagne, JR Johns’ renowned dog act, a chocolate fountain, appetizers and much more.

Because of severe funding cutbacks from several sources, Shakespeare Animal Fund is relying on this community fundraiser to continue supporting its mission, which is to pay for emergency veterinarian bills to stop the suffering of local animals.

A raffle will be will be held during the evening for two Southwest Airlines tickets, and a silent auction will feature Nevada Opera tickets, dinners and some very unique items not typically seen at auctions.

The cost for advance tickets is $35 and $40 at the door. To learn more about Applause for Paws and to purchase tickets in advance, call 342-7040 or e-mail theshakefund@aol.com.
