Downtown Art Walk expands
Art openings, live welding demonstrations, special art installations, drum circles, Dinner and Movie Night at the National Automobile Museum and more are what you’ll find at the Riverwalk District’s monthly Art Walk today from 4 to 9 p.m. Many of the downtown Reno exhibits and demonstrations are free.
Presented by the Riverwalk District and West Street Art Walks offer themed art exhibits, live music and entertainment on the first Thursday of every month through December in downtown Reno.

• West Street Market – Special performance by the Reno-Tahoe Drum Circle from 7 to 9 p.m. Welding demonstrations by blacksmith Brett Moten, who owns “Infinity Forge,” and provides custom forged and fabricated architectural metal works used for furniture, hardware and sculptures. See Pat Bilde’s Wild Hair Welding and the Abstract Art created by Michael Latano. Enjoy an exhibit by Kevin McCall, artist, designer and landscape architect who lives and works in the Tahoe area. You’ll be surprised and intrigued by his boldly-crafted and humorous “take” on America’s symbols and pop culture. Check out other artistic creations including swords by Richard Corley and infamous metal mobiles designed from chrome bumpers created by Butch Peterson.
• Art Walk Night is Dinner and Movie Night at the National Automobile Museum, The Harrah Collection at 10 S. Flyleaf perform at the Knit
Flyleaf will perform Saturday at the Knitting Factory in Reno. The band are on a headlining tour in support of “Momento Mori,” Flyleaf’s sophomore release. This spring, the single “Again” climbed to No. 3 on Modern Rock radio charts.
Flyleaf is based in Belton, Texas and the quintet has been touring nearly non-stop since the September 2005 release of its self-titled debut album, which spent 133 weeks on the Billboard 200 and contained the hits “I’m So Sick,” “Fully Alive” and “All Around Me.”
