SPARKS –– Police responded to the 500 block of Spring Meadows Drive Sunday after receiving several reports of shots being fired.

After checking and finding nothing, officers found a witness that saw a man, identified as Brian Trull, 27, outside a nearby apartment with a semi-automatic pistol fire several shots, and retreat into the apartment.

After about an hour, officers were able to talk Trull into coming outside and a routine check revealed an outstanding misdemeanor warrant. Officers found several expended shell casings and one bullet and Trull later admitted to firing the shots.

Trull was arrested on charges of being a felon in possession of a firearm, discharging a firearm in the city limits and the warrant.
