Sparks releases spring, summer activity guide

SPARKS — The city has released its annual Spring and Summer 2010 Activity Guide featuring classes and activities for the warmer months ahead. Programs are available for residents and non-residents of all ages and abilities, including aquatics, arts, dance, leisure and learning, senior programs, and adult and youth sports.

In addition to a listing of the city's many spring and summer activities, the guide also offers information on the Larry D. Johnson and Alf Sorensen community centers, the city's parks, volunteer opportunities, community recycling and beautification, upcoming spring and summer events and Youth Watch programs.



Copies of the Spring & Summer 2010 Activity Guide are available at the following locations:

• Parks and Recreation Department, 98 Richards Way

• Alf Sorensen Community Center, 1400 Baring Blvd.

• Larry D. Johnson Community Center, 1200 12th St.

• Sparks City Hall, 431 Prater Way

The guide can also be accessed online at www.sparksrec.com. Online registration is offered for most classes. Scholarship assistance is available for youths who cannot otherwise afford to participate in the recreation programs. For more information, e-mail recinfo@cityofsparks.us or call 353-2376.
