SPARKS - A woman in a Wildcreek Drive home was woken at about 6:40 a.m. Wednesday to a man breaking into her home and pointing a gun at her head.

Police are searching for the man who then demanded cash and jewelry and then sexually assaulted the woman at gunpoint. After the assault, the man left with a white pillow case full of the woman's expensive belongings.

Police say the man found an unlocked window on the bottom floor of the residence and broke in, finding the woman upstairs.

Police describe the man as as a white male, 35 to 40 years old, about 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighing about155 pounds with an average build. The man had facial hair stubble, gaps in his teeth and a large tattoo on the right side of his neck in cursive writing, possibly the letter “C.” The suspect was last seen wearing a blue baseball cap, dark blue hoodie with the hood pulled up over the cap, blue “Dickie” type pants and a blue steel handgun in a small brown leather holster on his hip.

The pillow case is described as a king size white pillow case with dual 1/4 inch green striping, that form box patterns on the case.

Anyone recognizing the description is asked to call Sparks Police Detectives at 353-2225 or Secret Witness.

Secret Witness is offering a $2,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the suspect .

Red Hawk Squawker

This community is peaceful and beautiful. Friendly people reside here. Yet, we have to keep our guard up. I live in Wingfield Springs where Red Hawk resort sends patrol cars out randomly. It also pays to have a dog who will bark when it senses someone outside. I have a Beagle who only barks when necessary. My cat must be part dog, because whenever she hears someone on the sidewalk outside, 50 feet from my house, she growls, stares at the front door, then runs away like a streak of lightening.

Glad to know the window was unlocked and that is how this nut job got in. I will check my windows nightly. An alarm system is becoming a desirable option.

To the victim: I wish you a speedy recovery, and hope you can manage not to let this horrible incident destroy your life.
