‘World Religions’ class at TMCC open to public

RENO — Truckee Meadows Community College will be teaching religions of the world in a class starting Jan. 27, 2010, which is open to the public.

The class will include an outline of Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, Sikhism, Judaism, Baha’ism, Confucianism, Jainism, Shintoism, Taoism, Zoroastrianism, Native American spirituality, and Atheism.

Rajan Zed, a panelist for On Faith, an interactive conversation on religion produced by Newsweek and WashingtonPost.com and winner of the World Interfaith Leader Award, will coordinate the class. Various religious leaders of the area belonging to different religions/denominations will participate as guest lecturers.

All are welcome to sign up for this “World Religions” (CR155C/12594) class, which will be offered at the Truckee Meadows Community College Meadowood Center, 5270 Neil Road, Room S315, from Jan. 27 to Feb. 24, 2010 on Wednesdays from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuition is $169 with discount for seniors.
