Red Cross offers free preparedness talks

RENO — In recognition of Preparedness Month in September, the Northern Nevada Chapter of the American Red Cross will offer to the public a series of free lunchtime preparedness presentations on a variety of topics.

People are encouraged to bring their own lunch to the presentations, which will run from 12:15 to 1 p.m. Dessert will be served.

The dates and scheduled presentations are as follows:

• Be Red Cross Ready — Sept. 10

• Earthquake Safety — Sept. 16

• Fire Safety and Prevention — Sept. 22

• Your Pets in a Disaster — Sept. 28

Because space is limited, call 856-1000 to register. The Red Cross is located at 1190 Corporate Blvd.
