RENO — With the traditional school year starting on Monday, the Reno Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department reminds parents that Sierra Kids is available before and after school to assist working parents of elementary school students.

Registration and payment is required by the Thursday prior to the week of attendance. The deadline to ensure a spot next week (the first week of school) is Thursday.

The Sierra Kids program provides students in kindergarten through sixth grade opportunities to enhance their social skills and participate in art, sports, gardening, dance and other activities that enhance personal development.

Sierra Kids is offered at 26 elementary schools throughout Washoe County. For more information call the Evelyn Mount Northeast Community Center at 334-2262.
