RENO - A hot shooting night by the Boise State Broncos was too much for the Nevada Wolf Pack to overcome Saturday. Boise State buried 13-of-22 attempts from beyond the 3-point arc and handed Nevada a 90-85 home loss.

The visiting Broncos hit five of their first six shots from 3-point land in the first half and their first six from long range to start the second half. The red-hot effort from the perimeter helped Boise State hand Nevada its worst home loss since a 101-57 drubbing at the hands of Stanford in December of 1998.

"We played as good as we can play. We were getting downcourt and shooting it," Boise State coach Greg Graham said. "The other key is we had 22 assists on 30 baskets. We shared the ball well."

Nevada took a 52-47 lead after Demarshay Johnson threw down a dunk with 17:10 to go in the second half. That's as good as it got for the Wolf Pack.

Boise State proceeded to go on a 22-3 run capped by back-to-back Tyler Tiedeman 3-pointers. The Broncos hit all six 3-point shots they took in the eight-minute span and finished it with a 69-55 advantage. Boise State never trailed again.

Tiedeman scored a game-high 27 points to lead five BSU players in double figures in the scoring column.

"They are a great offensive team, the No. 1 field goal percentage team in the country. They have terrific offensive players. They are like we were last year where we could score from any position," Nevada coach Mark Fox said.

The Broncos didn't let up. They scored eight of the next 12 points, expanding their lead to 79-60 after a Matt Nelson reverse layup with 5:15 to go in the game. The 19-point gap was the biggest of the game.

Nevada cut the Boise State lead to nine points, 89-80, after a Marcelus Kemp putback in the final minute, but the rally proved too little too late. The Broncos went on to score the final six points of the game to account for the final margin.

Kemp finished with 23 points to lead Nevada, but he was just 6-of-18 shooting on the night. Armon Johnson contributed 20 points to the Wolf Pack's losing cause. Brandon Fields and Demarshay Johnson added 16 and 10 points respectively for Nevada.

The Wolf Pack hung tough in the first half despite the torrid shooting start by Boise State. Anthony Thomas buried a trey for the BSU crew from the top of the key, giving the Broncos a 20-14 lead less than six minutes into the conference clash.

The Wolf Pack responded with a modest 12-5 run to take its first lead following a pair of Kemp free throws. The foul shots gave Nevada a 26-25 lead with 9:13 to go in the first half.

The slim lead was short-lived. Boise State took the momentum back and went ahead 40-33 after Kurt Cunningham dropped in a layup at the 4:28 mark of the first half. Nevada responded with a 13-2 outburst to close out the half. It scored seven points in the final minute before the break and went to the locker room at the midway point with a 46-42 lead.

Reggie Larry and Thomas scored 18 and 16 points for Boise State (13-5, 4-2 WAC) while Matt Bauscher and Matt Nelson each added 10 for the Idaho school.

The Broncos finished the game 31-of-57 (54.4 percent) from the field, while the Wolf Pack was 29-of-66 (43.9 percent). Boise State also out-rebounded Nevada, 38-29. The Wolf Pack is 1-7 when it gets beaten on the boards this season.

"This is a great place to play but a tough place to play. I think this is only the second time we've won here (in six tries)," Graham said.

Nevada (10-7, 2-2) is in action again Thursday when it goes to New Mexico State for a 6:05 p.m. tip-off.
